Philip Morgan Agency of Charleston, South Carolina has been providing insurance services, like home insurance, since 1945.  We are a third generation, Independent Insurance Agency located in the lowcountry of South Carolina. The J. Philip Morgan Agency uses current technology without sacrificing a personal touch.  We have an experienced staff to help you with all your personal and commercial lines.  We keep up to date with insurance products, companies, and technology.  We aim to give value to our clients by extending some southern hospitality taught to us by our parents and grandparents.  After all, we have been in business for over 60 years for a reason. 

The J. Philip Morgan Insurance Agency began in 1945, and is the oldest insurance agency in Moncks Corner, South Carolina.  J. Philip Morgan (Philip) began as a registered land surveyor in a 400 square foot office at 108 West Railroad Avenue behind Williams Farm Supply in Moncks Corner with his wife Zada Mims Morgan.  Soon thereafter, the business included Real Estate, Appraisals and personal insurance sales.

In 1968, they built a new 1100 square foot office building at 130 South Railroad Avenue and added two clerical employees.  Their son, John, entered the business in 1971.  Philip died in 1976, and John and his mother, Zada continued the business as an Independent Insurance agency, and Zada retired in 1990.

John's sons, J.P. Morgan (1996) and Hugh Morgan (2002) entered the business and have been instrumental in the growth and efficiency of the insurance agency.  In 2001, the Morgan Insurance Agency expanded the office building to around 3400 square feet to accommodate growth and the need for new agents.

The Morgan family has positioned themselves to keep up with the tri-county growth while still providing that personal touch of customer service that the Morgan Insurance Agency has provided for over 63 years!
